Russian cloud gaming site illegally streaming Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Not the best idea to mess with Nintendo
Nintendo is always going after software pirates, leaked copies of games, emulation and so on. They’ve only been ramping up their efforts in recent months, which makes now an absolutely crazy time to offer a service that is undeniably illegal.
A Russian cloud gaming site has taken it upon themselves to offer their users access to streaming versions of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and more. Furthermore, this website is using the Yuzu Switch emulator to offer these games. For those who don’t remember, Tropic Haze is the team that has created the Yuzu emulator, and were ordered to pay Nintendo $2.4 million in damages, turn over their yuzu-emu.org website to Nintendo, and stop distributing the Yuzu emulator.
This is about as much of an open-and-shut legal case for Nintendo as there could be, and there’s no doubt Nintendo is going to swoop in and shut this activity down. There’s word that some of the access to these titles may have already been yanked, but it seems users of the site are still playing the titles illegally.
If/when Nintendo comments on this matter, we’ll be sure to share the update.
