Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp originally launched for mobile devices all the way back in 2017, and it’s been going strong with new content and updates ever since. Unfortunately, the fun is about to end later this year, as Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is going to see its service end come November 29th, 2024.

In a message shared on social media, Nintendo announced the impending end of service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and they shared their “deepest gratitude” to everyone who supported the app. They also made a point to mention that there will still be in-game events and items added all the way up to the app’s end of service.

Last but not least, Nintendo has announced that diehard Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp players will still have a way to enjoy the game after service ends, but there’s a catch. While this will be an offline version of the game, it will also be a paid release. This version of Pocket Camp will require a one-time fee, and you’ll also be able to transfer your save data over from the online version to this new offline version.

Nintendo has released a few more details on the end of service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp along with other tidbits on the upcoming offline version. You can read the official FAQ here.

Doing an offline paid version after the service ends is a pretty cool way to give players that really want to keep playing an option after service inevitably ends for your live service game.
