Charles Martinet reveals his favorite Mario games

Charles Martinet may be a Mario ambassador nowadays, but for decades he was the go-to guy for the voice of Mario. That means he helped bring Mario to life in multiple installments over the years that fans would include among their favorite games of all-time. Not surprisingly, Martinet has his favorites as well.

Charles Martinet was just part of a question and answer session at Nintendo Live 2024 Sydney, and fans had plenty of things they wanted to ask the Mario ambassador. During the hour-long panel, the topic of Martinet’s favorite Mario games came up, and he was more than happy to share his top picks.

In particular, Martinet says he has a soft spot for the sandbox-style Mario games, but he did specifically name multiple installments. Among his favorites, Martinet listed Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Odyssey. Sorry, New Super Mario Bros. fans…Martinet didn’t show the series any love!
