Armed robbery results in $70k of Pokémon cards being stolen
I think we know the culprits...
Pokémon Trading Cards are hot-ticket items, bringing in some major bucks for collectors. That kind of value brings in all sorts of attention, and that unfortunately includes the watchful eyes of ne’er-do-wells.
A hobby shop in Osaka has just been the target of an armed robbery, and it was all in the name of Pokémon Trading Cards. Two thieves broke into the store at 3 in the morning for the heist, and were greeted by two employees working the late-night shift. The robbers tied up the employees and then demanded to know where the valuable Pokémon Trading Cards were.
The robbers ended up making away with over 100 Pokémon Trading Cards in the haul, with amounts to roughly $70k in stolen goods. As of right now, the robbers have not been apprehended, but the good news is that the two store employees were left physically unharmed in the altercation.
If/when these thieves are brought to justice, we’ll make sure to update this post with full details.
