The Pokémon Co. is always fiercely protecting their intellectual property all around the world, and the latest example of that is a legal battle that just ended in their favor in China.

Pokémon Co. has won a copyright infringement and intellectual property theft lawsuit that was originally filed back in 2021, and it pertained to 6 Chinese companies that were a mobile game that stole various Pokémon characters and more. Anyone from the outside looking in could see that it was a clear case of theft, and although the wheels of justice turn slowly, the court has now arrived at the same opinion.

The Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court has ruled in favor of the Pokémon Co., and the companies involved have to pay a combined total of 107 million Chinese yuan (over $15 million based on recent conversion rates) in damages.
