There are people out there who know all about the Switch’s successor. There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of them. Obviously Nintendo has all of them signed to very strict non-discloser agreements, and you can bet that includes a host of people at EA. That doesn’t mean the studio can’t dance around the topic, though.

IGN recently sat down with Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Organization, Vince Zampella, and they grilled him all about the next installment of the Battlefield franchise. While details on the game itself are still rather scarce, that didn’t stop IGN from asking if there’s a chance the game could make its way to Switch’s successor. While Zampella wouldn’t commit to that, he did leave more than enough wiggle room for the idea.

“I mean, since [Switch 2] isn’t announced and it doesn’t exist, I can’t really comment on that. But I would say absolutely, Nintendo, along with Microsoft and Sony are great partners for us, are important to us on our business at EA, at Respawn, would love to see it. We don’t have anything to announce, but is there a world? Sure. We love them as partners. They’ve been great to us. I love the [Switch].”
