Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom glitch leads to sub 1-hour speedruns
Does it use beds?
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom hasn’t even been out for a week yet and speedrunners have already found a way to beat the game in less than an hour.
You know the drill by now. A new Nintendo game comes out and the speedrunning community looks to break it a million times over, all in the hopes of rolling the end credits as quickly as possible. That’s especially true of Legend of Zelda games, and Echoes of Wisdom has been no different.
Less than a week into the game’s lifespan and speedrunners have already discovered a game-breaking glitch in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom that gets you to the game’s end in less than an hour. This is accomplished through breaking the game’s echo ability, coupled with putting signs on top of trees, and then manipulating menus as well. The end result is a warp to the game’s final dungeon, and it’s obviously something Nintendo didn’t intend.
Will Nintendo swoop in with a patch that eliminates this technique? Only time will tell, but speedrunners are no doubt going to exploit the issue to its fullest in the meantime.
