There are all kinds of fun things about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but the most notable has to be the fact that Zelda is the protagonist for the first time ever in franchise history. You get to play a tiny bit as Link in the game’s opening moments, but after that it’s all Zelda all the time. Well, at least it was…

Nothing gets speedrunners and glitch hunters going like the release of a new Nintendo game, and that’s very much been the case with the arrival of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Those communities have been toiling away at the game since last week, and they’ve found all kinds of speed strats and bugs, but now they’ve come up with one that Nintendo is sure to patch asap.

In the video above, you can see a newly-discovered glitch that lets you play as Link in areas you’re never meant to. This also comes with a bunch of caveats for your progress/save file, and obviously certain things won’t display correctly in-game, but the end result is still a playable Link.

Watch the video for a bit of enjoyment, but please be warned… If you decide to try this glitch out on your own, you could end up nuking all sorts of progress, so it’s certainly not for the faint of heart!
