There are a handful of instances of software where Nintendo’s franchises come together. The obvious example is the Smash Bros. series, but we’ve also see Nintendo mix in intellectual properties in Mario Kart, Mario Party and more. It’s always fun to see Nintendo mash up their creations, and one modder has taken that idea and really run with it.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time has to be one of the most modded games out there. Decades after the game’s release, players are still finding interesting ways to change, break and overhaul the game through mods. The latest example can be seen above, and it gives Link a whole new way to save Hyrule by adding some Pikmin at his side!

The Pikmin in Zelda: Ocarina of Time work just as they do in the Pikmin series. Link can toss the Pikmin around to damage enemies, deploy bridges, collect items, and much more. The video above gives a really good idea of just how well Pikmin fit into a Legend of Zelda experience. It kind of makes you wish Nintendo sees this idea and runs wild with it in the future!

Thanks to CM30 for the heads up!
