We often think of ice cream as the quintessential no-bake summer dessert. Though it is deliciously creamy, sweet and luxurious, it is also laden with fat, sugar and calories. For those of us looking for a healthier but still satisfying alternative, TikTok has numerous easy recipe recommendations.

Recently, one particular sweet alternative has been garnering viral attention: strawberry-yogurt clusters. The four-ingredient dessert comes from food influencer Nicole Keshishian Modic (@kalejunkie) and has received over167 million views on TikTok. Here’s everything to know about the viral strawberry-yogurt clusters, including how you can make them yourself.

What Are Strawberry Yogurt Clusters?

The viral strawberry-yogurt clusters are a healthy, sweet snack or dessert. They are frozen, fruity and creamy, with an “ice cream-ish vibe,” according to Modic. Check them out for yourself in her video below.

How Can I Make the Viral Strawberry Yogurt Clusters?

To make the strawberry-yogurt clusters, you will need a small bowl, a medium bowl, spoons, parchment paper and a baking sheet. You will also need access to a freezer and a microwave. If you don’t have access to a microwave, you can also melt the chocolate over the stovetop.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Directions

Step 1: Combine ingredients

Add the chopped strawberries and Greek yogurt into a medium-sized bowl. Toss them to coat.

Step 2: Prep the strawberry-yogurt clusters

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop 2- to 3-tablespoon-sized clusters of the strawberry-yogurt mixture onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freezer and chill the strawberry-yogurt clusters for 20 minutes.

Step 3: Melt the chocolate

In a separate small bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Use a microwave to melt the chocolate in 30-second increments. After each increment, stir the chocolate, then microwave again until combined and fully smooth.

Step 4: Dip the clusters

Once the chocolate is melted and the strawberry-yogurt clusters are frozen, dip the frozen dessert clusters into the chocolate to fully coat. Place the chocolate-coated clusters back on the parchment-lined baking sheet; the chocolate will harden into a shell around the frozen strawberry-yogurt clusters.

While the chocolate is drying, add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top of the clusters, if desired. Enjoy!

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week or in the freezer for up to one month.

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1-1/4 cups sugar

Because of its long-term storage capability, the freezer often becomes an afterthoughtovercrowded with expired leftovers and messy bags of frozen food. But once you organize a freezer correctly (and with the best freezer organization products), you’ll be amazed at how accessible everything is. A clean and organized freezer makes meal planning more efficient and cuts back on wasted food.

What is the best way to organize a freezer?

There are various different types of freezers, including side-by-side freezer and refrigerator, top freezer, bottom freezer and chest freezer. Each one varies dramatically in size and shape, so your organization method and products will depend on what type of freezer you have. However, we’ve created a general list of tools and steps that will help you in the process of freezer organizationno matter what type you own (or how small it is!).

How to Organize a Freezer

Supplies/Tools

  • Reusable freezer bags:Use silicone bags to store leftovers in smaller portions, or for when a food bag (like frozen peas) breaks or tears.
  • Freezer bins:Clear bins help you separate frozen foods by category or corral loose items, like individual popsicles.
  • Freezer labels: Labels track the date and contents of frozen food containers. This set of 500 labels is water-resistant and won’t leave a residue.

Directions

Step 1: Empty the freezer

Empty your freezer completely. This is the only way to see exactly what you have and to clear out the graveyard of expired and freezer-burned food.

Step 2: Throw out expired food

Spread the freezer contents out on the counter or kitchen table. Throw away anything that is expired (or no longer recognizable!).

Step 3: Categorize

Separate foods into categories, like frozen vegetables, premade frozen dinners, leftovers and baking ingredients.

Step 4: Organize by date

As you start returning the food to the freezer, think about what you reach for the most; and those items should go at the most accessible location. Then, sort them by date. The oldest items should be placed in front or on top, and the newest items should go in the back or bottom. Use labels to mark expiration dates (if not visible on the packaging).

Step 5: Use bins and bags

Now is the fun part! Place bins or baskets in the freezer for each category. Bins designated for things like vegetables, meats and frozen meals maximize space and help you locate things quickly. Use freezer bags to separate large bags, like bulky bags of frozen vegetables, into smaller meal-size portions that are easier to organizeand be sure to label each one.

How to Organize a Deep Freezer

If you have a deep freezer, like a chest freezer, things can get forgotten or lost at the bottom. Use bins of different sizes to create layers, so you can easily lift the top layer out to reach the lower items. Stack the most commonly used foods on top, and others you don’t need as often on the bottom.

How to Organize a Bottom Freezer

Most bottom freezers have shallow drawers or baskets on top. That’s where you should store your most used items and kids’ grab-and-go items, like frozen yogurt and popsicles. The deeper section in the bottom will hold the bulk of your items. Here, you can separate things into categories using bins, or create neat stacks of like items together. Store boxed dinners or frozen pizzas sideways so you can read the labels. Use stackable organizers for things like ice and frozen soup.

  • 1 can (15.6 ounces) funfetti vanilla frosting
  • 1 pound white candy coating, coarsely chopped
  • Rainbow jimmies or nonpareils

Directions

  1. Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions, using a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. Crumble cake into a large bowl. Add frosting with candy bits and mix well. Shape into 1-1/4-in. balls. Place on baking sheets. Freeze for at least 2 hours or refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until cake balls are firm.
  3. In a microwave, melt candy coating. Dip each cake ball in coating; allow excess to drip off. Sprinkle with jimmies or nonpareils. Let stand until set. Store in an airtight container.

To make easy work of dipping the cake balls, insert a wooden skewer into each one and gently dip in the melted candy coating.     • 20 uncooked lasagna noodles

Drain noodles. If desired, cut off ribboned edges (discard or save for another use). Spread about 1/4 cup filling on each noodle. Starting with a short side, fold each in thirds.     2. In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 375°. In a shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs, 2/3 cup Italian cheese blend and remaining 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.     1. Preheat oven to 350°. In each of 3 small bowls, whisk 1-1/3 cups milk and 1 package pudding mix for 2 minutes. Refrigerate, covered, while baking cake layers.
    2. Line bottoms of 2 greased 9-in. round baking pans with parchment; grease paper. Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions, folding 2/3 cup sprinkles into batter. Transfer to prepared pans. Bake and cool as package directs.
    3. Using a long serrated knife, trim tops of cake layers to level. Crumble trimmings; transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350° until crisp but not browned, about 5 minutes. Cool completely on pan on wire rack.
    4. Line two 9-in. springform pans with plastic wrap, letting ends extend over sides. Place strawberries in a food processor; process until ground. Stir strawberries into the first bowl of pudding. To another bowl of pudding, whisk in blue food coloring. To the third bowl, whisk in cocoa; refrigerate chocolate pudding.

    Ingredients

    • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
    • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • Dash salt
    • 1-1/2 cups cornflakes, coarsely crushed
    • VANILLA BOURBON ICE CREAM:
    • 5 large egg yolks
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • Dash salt
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 3 tablespoons bourbon

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl, combine cream, butter, sugar and salt. Stir in cornflakes until well coated. Spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 12-15 minutes, stirring once. Cool completely.
    2. For the ice cream, in a large heavy saucepan, whisk egg yolks, sugar and salt until blended; stir in milk. Cook over low heat until mixture is just thick enough to coat a metal spoon and a thermometer reads at least 160°, stirring constantly. Do not allow to boil. Remove from heat immediately.
    3. Quickly transfer to a small bowl; place bowl in a pan of ice water. Stir gently and occasionally for 2 minutes. Stir in cream and vanilla. Press waxed paper onto surface of custard. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
    4. Stir bourbon into custard. Fill cylinder of ice cream maker no more than two-thirds full; freeze according to manufacturer’s directions, adding cornflakes during the last 2 minutes of processing. (Refrigerate any remaining mixture until ready to freeze.)
    5. Transfer ice cream to freezer containers, allowing headspace for expansion. Freeze until firm, 2-4 hours.

    For those of us who lead busy lives, freezing food can be a lifesaver when it comes to meal prep. But what about when you pull out the make-ahead freezer meals prepped in advance (or even a pint of ice cream) and there’s a layer of freezer burn? Is this freezer burn safe to eat?

    Here’s a closer look at what that icy crust is and whether the freezer-burned food is still good.

    What Is Freezer Burn?

    Freezer burn occurs when your food dries out. Those ice crystals you see on your frozen leftovers are created by moisture that escaped from the food. This happens for one of two reasons: either you didn’t store your food properly or your food has been in the freezer for a long time. Eventually, everything will start to turn to ice if left in there too long.

    Foods with a higher water content are more likely to get freezer burned. Bananas, citrus fruits and other items on our list of foods that freeze well won’t get freezer burned as quickly as something like ground meat.

    What Does Freezer Burn Look Like?

    On most foods, freezer burn looks like a layer of ice. For example, if you open up a bag of frozen raspberries for a smoothie, you might find icy berries toward the top of the bag. When you dig into a tub of ice cream, ice crystals may be climbing up the sides of the container and onto the ice cream itself.

    On certain types of food, freezer burn can change how the food itself looks, instead of adding a layer of ice.

    How Freezer Burn Affects Different Foods

    While it’s possible for any food to develop freezer burn, the effect can differ among types of food. Because freezer burn pulls moisture out of food, foods with a high water content are more affected than others.

    Red Meat and Pork

    Red meat and pork can take on a brown or gray color when freezer burn sets in. These discolored areas are safe to eat but are usually dry and tough when cooked.

    Chicken and Poultry

    When poultry (such as chicken breasts) become freezer burned, the edges appear beige or gray. Once cooked, these parts of the chicken have a leathery texture and are dry and tough.

    Fruits and Veggies

    In addition to being covered in ice crystals, freezer-burned fruits and vegetables tend to look shriveled and sad. As they lose their moisture to freezer burn, they shrink considerably. It’s helpful to keep in mind how long frozen vegetables last when meal planning.

    Ice Cream

    Ice cream may be the least forgiving food when it comes to freezer burn. Freezer-burned ice cream loses moisture and creaminess as it sits in the back of the freezer. Even once you scrape off the ice crystals, it won’t taste the same as fresh ice cream. Don’t let good ice cream go to waste! Whip up one of our ice cream desserts before the ice crystals take over.

    Is Freezer-Burned Food Safe to Eat?

    Yes. Though it may be lacking in the taste department, freezer-burned food is still safe to consume. You may not enjoy the flavor or dried-out texture of freezer-burned frozen pizza, but it has no impact on the quality of your food or your health. However, keep in mind that food doesn’t last forever in the freezer.

    When cooking with freezer-burned food, here’s how to salvage as much flavor and texture as possible: Use fresh herbs to replace the natural flavor lost to freezer burn. Use the slow cooker to fix tough meat. And add beef or chicken broth to freezer-burned meat or poultry to help replace some of the lost moisture.

    How to Prevent Freezer Burn

    The number one rule for preventing freezer burn is to store all your food properly. That means sealing it in airtight containers (look for plastic and glass that are specifically freezer-safe) or wrapping it tightly with plastic wrap. Invest in products to help freeze food, such as a vacuum sealer, reusable freezer bags and portion pods.

    You should also make sure your freezer isn’t too cold or too packed full of groceries and containers. Leave space for air to circulate, and keep the temperature around 0F. If you plan on freezing leftovers, make sure everything is completely cool before it goes in the freezer. Sealing it up when it’s still warm will cause steam and condensation to form on your food, which is just freezer burn waiting to happen.

    I don’t know about you, but there have been many times when I’ve misjudged how much cooked rice I need for a meal and wind up with leftovers. Making fried rice is one great way to ensure that leftover rice doesn’t go to waste, but freezing rice is another option. Here’s everything you need to know.

    Can You Freeze Cooked Rice?

    Yes! You can easily freeze cooked rice, which is great if you’ve made too much or want to shave down how much time you spend making dinner. You can also freeze rice that has other ingredients mixed in, including veggies or meat, as a simple part of your weekly meal prep.

    We’ve found that certain types of rice, like arborio, sushi rice and bomba (used in paella), freeze better than jasmine or basmati rice. (Here’s how to make sushi rice.)

    How to Freeze Rice

    Here’s your crash course in freezing rice the right way.

    • Spread the cooked rice on a metal baking sheet or baking pan.
    • Place the pan in the fridge, keeping the pan as level as possible so it won’t tip out. (Sweeping up spilled rice is no fun!)
    • When the rice has cooled completely, portion it out into zip-top freezer bags or air-tight containers. (Hot tip: 1/2 cup of cooked rice is one serving.)
    • Stash the bags in the freezer.

    When Should You Freeze Rice?

    Freezing rice shortly after it has been cooked is a must: Bacillus cereus bacteria spores can survive the cooking process and lead to food poisoning if the rice is left out. Since the bacteria thrive at room temperature, sticking rice in the freezer stops potential bacteria growth in its tracks. It also makes freezing a better option than refrigeration.

    How Long Can You Keep Cooked Rice in the Freezer?

    Frozen rice lasts up to a month in the freezer. When you’re ready to take it out, reheat your rice in the microwave. Just make sure it’s completely heated through and piping hot before you tuck in. Avoid reheating rice more than once. Repeated reheating can create the conditions needed for that nasty bacteria to grow. If you have any leftovers after reheating, scrape them into the garbage.

    How to Freeze an Unblanched Corn Cob

    Calling all corn-on-the-cob lovers! This corn freezing method is the simplest one yet. Here’s how.

    You’ll start off by shucking the corn and removing its silk. Then, simply place the corn cobs into freezer bags and push any air out. You’ll want to date the airtight freezer bags using a permanent marker before placing the bags into the freezer. That’s it! In just minutes your fresh corn is now freezer ready.

    How to Freeze Blanched Corn Kernels

    Blanching is a very traditional cooking method used to keep fresh produce for longer periods of time. Plus, it helps remove dirt and keeps your corn bright and yellow.

    Start off by shucking and removing the corn silk, then you’ll want to bring a large pot of water to a boil. Place the corn cobs into the boiling water to blanch them. It should take 7 minutes for small cobs, 9 minutes for medium cobs and 11 minutes for large cobs. After boiling them, remove the cobs from the pot and immediately place them into ice water for the same length of time.

    Remove the corn from the ice water and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut the kernels off of the corn cob and pour them into freezer bags. Push any remaining air out of the bags and date the bags with a permanent marker. Then, place the bags into the freezer and you’re all done!

    How to Freeze Unblanched Corn Kernels

    If you were wondering if you can freeze corn without blanching, the answer is yes!

    After shucking and removing the silk from the corn, you’ll want to cut the kernels off of the corn cob and dump them into a bowl or container. Then, pour the corn kernels into as many freezer bags as needed and make sure to push any remaining air out. Date the airtight freezer bags with a permanent marker and then place the bags into the freezer.

    How Long Does Corn Last in the Freezer?

    Unblanched frozen corn, whether in cob or kernel form, should last for about 6 months stored in an airtight freezer bag. We recommend storing frozen blanched corn for about 3 months in the freezer. That sure beats storing fresh corn in the refrigeratorwhich lasts for about 1-2 days.     Whether you buy a giant bunch at the store or are trimming the last of your herb garden, sometimes you’re left with more fresh cilantro than you can use. So what do you do with the extras? Can you freeze cilantro for later? The good news is that you absolutely can!

    How to Freeze Cilantro at Home

    Freezing cilantro is a great way to preserve its fresh, bright flavor. There are two simple methods for stashing this leafy herb in the freezer.

    Method 1: Freeze in Zip-Top Bags

    A super simple way to freeze cilantro for later is to stash in a zip-top freezer bag. To do this, wash your cilantro and pat dry with a clean dishtowel. Place the sprigs in resealable bags and toss in the freezer.

    Method 2: Freeze Cilantro in Ice Cube Trays

    You can also preserve pre-portioned amounts of cilantro using ice cube trays.

    To do this, finely chop the fresh cilantro (use the stems, toothey have lots of flavor). Press it into an ice cube tray, top with a splash of water and freeze.

    If all that chopping isn’t for you, toss the cilantro into a food processor and blitz until the herbs are finely chopped. Add in a splash of water or oil to make a paste, then portion out into the ice cube trays.

    Making a sauce, soup or roast? You can chop or toss in a cube of frozen cilantro and cook as normal.

    We use our favorite13×9 baking dish for everything, and we definitely don’t want it tied up in the freezer for months. Instead of freezing your casserole directly in the dish, line it with parchment paper before filling it. Pop it into the freezer, let the casserole become solid, then pop the parchment paper out and load everything in a separate container before putting it back into the freezer until you’re ready to bake.

    6. Thaw before baking

    Before you pop your casserole into the oven, don’t forget to thaw it. The safest way is to let it thaw overnight in the fridge before baking, so make sure to plan ahead.

    Ingredients

    • 1 carton (15 ounces) whole-milk ricotta cheese
    • 1-1/4 cups whole milk
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
    • 1/2 teaspoon instant espresso powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
    • 3-1/2 ounces milk chocolate, melted and cooled
    • 3-1/2 ounces dark chocolate candy bar, chopped

    Directions

    1. Place first 7 ingredients in a blender; cover and blend until combined, about 1 minute. Add cream and cooled melted chocolate; cover and blend until slightly thickened, about 30 seconds.
    2. Fill cylinder of ice cream maker no more than two-thirds full; freeze according to manufacturer’s directions, adding dark chocolate during the last 5 minutes of processing in proportion to amount of mixture in cylinder. Refrigerate any remaining mixture until ready to freeze.
    3. Transfer ice cream to freezer containers, allowing headspace for expansion. Freeze until firm, 2-4 hours.

    To help meal plan, we’re turning to our freezers for help. You can stash meat in a chest freezer to stock up when there’s a sale, or simply to keep a variety of chicken, beef and pork on hand.

    But what happens when you thaw too much meat? Can you refreeze meat safely?

    Is It Safe to Refreeze Thawed Meat?

    That depends.

    You can safely refreeze meat as long as you thawed it in your refrigerator or any place with temperatures below 42F. Make sure to refreeze it as soon as possible, within 2-4 days depending on the type of meat. Before putting it back into the freezer, check to see if there are any strange odors or colors, though.

    When Can’t You Refreeze Meat?

    If you thawed the meat on your countertop or microwave, it can’t be refrozen. You can cook the meat and safely freeze it after it’s cool. Meat left outside of the fridge for more than 1 to 2 hours should also be tossed.

    Can You Refreeze Meat Twice?

    Bear in mind that refreezing meat can change its taste and quality. Your best bet is to limit refreezing food if you can help it. This is how long food lasts after you pull it out of the freezer.

    What Happens When You Refreeze Meat?

    For starters, there will be a loss of moisture (think back to the liquid at the bottom of the package when you thaw meatall that is lost moisture). The refreezing process also causes ice crystals to form, which dries the meat out. The more times meat is refrozen, the less juicy and tender it will be. It will be safe to eat, but it may not be as tasty as it would have been originally. However, you can easily fix tough meat in the slow cooker.

    How to Refreeze Meat

    Chicken

    You need to refreeze chicken quickly. Return it to the freezer within 1 to 2 days to preserve maximum quality, and place it in a shallow container to help speed up the freezing process. Refrozen chicken can last in the freezer between 9 and 12 months.

    Since refrozen chicken’s texture and taste may be impacted, it thrives best in a dish where it isn’t the star. Use it to make saucy chicken enchiladas or a flavorful chicken casserole.

    Pork

    Though pork will be a little dry if you refreeze it, it will still be tasty (we’re big fans of using frozen meat to make pork fajitas). When prepping pork to return it to the freezer, place it in a freezer bag and make sure all the air is pressed out to prevent freezer burn. It can last up to 2 months in the freezer.

    Beef

    Don’t throw away expensive beef steaks and roasts, even after you’ve thawed them! They can be refrozen, and a homemade marinade will mask any change in flavor that occurs during refreezing. Your roasts will last for up to a year in the freezer. Use these freezer organization products to keep things tidy.

    Ground Meat

    Ground meat can be refrozen if it’s been in the fridge for three days or less. When thawed again, it’s best suited for a ground beef casserolesave burger night for meat that’s freshly purchased. Ground meat will last between 3 and 4 months in the freezer.

    Step 1: Create dough balls

    Begin by divvying up the dough into equal-sized portions and form into balls. Each ball should be big enough to make an individual pizza, about 200-250 grams for a 10-inch crust. This measurement will vary depending on your recipe and your preferred crust thickness, so test this process with one or two dough balls before making a big batch.

    Thaw dough in the fridge

    Place the dough in a covered bowl in the fridge for 8-12 hours, or overnight. During this thaw, the dough will undergo another fermentation process as the yeast activates, so make sure that the bowl is big enough to accommodate some expansion.

    Thaw dough in water

    Running short on time? To thaw your pizza more quickly, place your dough a bowl of cold water. Make sure to keep the dough sealed in plastic, and change the water every half hour. This will take 1-2 hours. You can use water on the warmer side if you’re in a rush, but make sure it’s not too hot. Otherwise, the yeast in the dough will start to activate.

    Thaw dough in the microwave

    Running evenshorteron time? You can toss your frozen pizza dough in themicrowave, but you’ll want to be careful to ensure that you don’t end up cooking it. Move dough from the freezer bag to a microwave-safe plate, and then defrost in 30-second increments. This should take about 2-1/2 minutes.

    Thaw dough on the counter

    You can also let the dough thaw on the kitchen counter for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours; however, make sure to refrigerate after 2 hours to avoid bacteria growth.

    How to Use Thawed Pizza Dough

    How to Freeze Whole Bananas

    Planning to munch on the frozen fruit as a snack or stir ’em into your baked goods, like this Best Banana Bread? Keep them whole. Simply peel the bananas, place them in a freezer-friendly container or bag, and toss in the freezer. (We recommend labeling the container with the date to help you stay organized.)

    You’ve probably seen people store whole bundles of bananas in their freezerpeel and all. Is this acceptable? Well, that’s up to you. Bananas that were frozen in their peels are safe to consume, but you do run the risk of decreasing the quality of the fruit because they won’t stay as fresh. Plus, upon freezing, banana peels turn dark and soft, which makes them a bit harder to remove. So, to save yourself some fussing when you’re finally looking to use the frozen fruit, we suggest peeling them in advance.

    How to Freeze Sliced Bananas

    To freeze banana pieces, peel and cut them crosswise into 1/2-in.- to 3/4-in.-thick slices. Then, place them in a single layer on a wax-paper-lined baking sheet and flash-freeze until the slices are frozen solid, about two hours. (Psst! Flash-freezing is super important here because it ensures the individual pieces won’t clump together.) Lastly, transfer the frozen pieces to a freezer-safe container or bag, and return to the freezer. And don’t forget to label!

    These banana bites are perfect for throwing in smoothies because they won’t wear out the blender’s motor, and if you leave the fruit frozen, they can even take the place of ice in your morning beverage. Note: If you’re using frozen bananas to bake, you’ll need to thaw them first; allow about an hour for this.

    How to Freeze Mashed Bananas

    If you want to get a jump on recipe prep for items such asbaby food or these Frosted Banana Bars, freeze already-mashed bananas. Simply peel and mash the fruit, then spoon into a freezer-safe bag. Before placing in the freezer, press all the air out of the bag and seal it shut. Make sure to freeze the bags flat on their side.     Can You Freeze Biscuits?

    Yes! You can have fresh-tasting, tender biscuits anytime. Let baked biscuits sit on a wire rack until completely cool. Then, wrap each biscuit tightly in heavy-duty foil or freezer wrap and store in a gallon-sized freezer bag or airtight container. They can be stored in the freezer for 2-3 months.

    Editor’s Note: Be sure the biscuits are completely cool before freezing. This ensures that excess moisture isn’t trapped inside of them once frozen. (Excess moisture will cause biscuits to become gummy and dense when they’re thawed later.)

    How to Reheat Biscuits

    To reheat previously-baked biscuits, transfer the frozen biscuits to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in a 350 oven for 15-20 minutes. To prevent the biscuits from over-browning, lay a sheet of foil over the frozen biscuits. The biscuits are ready when they’re soft and warm through the center.

    Yes, it’s true! You can freeze scratch-made biscuit doughfor a rainy day. After cutting out your biscuits, arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and then transfer it to your freezer. Once the biscuits are frozen, you can transfer them to a gallon-sized freezer bag or airtight container. Store the frozen biscuit dough for up to 3 months.

    How to Bake Frozen Biscuit Dough

    No need to thaw your frozen biscuit dough. Simply remove however many biscuits you want to bake and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Transfer the baking sheet to a preheated 425 oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.

    Editor’s Note: Baking times will vary depending on your oven and the biscuit recipe you’re using. As a rule of thumb, add 5-10 minutes to your baking time when baking frozen biscuit dough.

    Can You Freeze Canned Biscuits?

    Yep. The easiest way to freeze your favorite canned biscuit dough is simply throwing the can in the freezer. (Don’t worry, the can won’t burst open!) To thaw, transfer the tube to the refrigerator overnight and then bake as directed on the package.

    Alternatively, you can also open the can, separate the biscuits and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Then, freeze just as you would homemade biscuit dough using the directions above.
